New customers are invited to browse the two-level store located near Sears. Arhaus offers handcrafted furniture and accessories, including Parisian and Indonesian antiques, exotic and everyday fresh florals, and hand-painted murals.

The 19,000-square-foot store in Danbury features a combination of marble and oak floors, along with a river rock fireplace and hand-carved teak panels and doors.

The retailer also features slip-covered, leather and fitted sofas, sectionals and chairs, dining tables and chairs, bedroom furniture and private label bedding, antiques and reproductions, library and office appropriate pieces as well as media centers, and an assortment of seasonally appropriate (and always changing) accessories.

Entirely exclusive to Arhaus, furniture and accessories are handmade by artisans all over the world. “Each piece is unique to our stores ... and one-of-a-kind,”  John Reed, president and chief executive, said in a statement. “We have not and will not use wood that is harvested from non-sustainable resources,” he says.

The retailer’s Rainforest Policy, a commitment not to purchase pieces made of wood harvested from the world’s endangered rainforests, dates to 1986 and the first store location in downtown Cleveland, he said. Today, this policy has evolved. Arhaus will only source wood from vendors practicing sustainability and its artisans use recycled materials whenever possible.

Customers at the new Danbury store can also register to win one of three Arhaus gift cards: $500, $1,000 and $1,500 with free in-home design consultation. The winners will be announced at its grand opening celebration, Thursday, March 20, from 6 to 9 p.m. The grand opening will feature free cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

Reservations for the open house will be accepted Thursday, Feb. 27 through Thursday, March 20, at arhaus.com/wishlist/danbury.

The new location will be the 47th for Arhaus.

The national home furnishings retailer was founded in 1986 by father and son, Jack and John Reed, and is headquartered in Cleveland. For more information, visit arhaus.com.
