The former Perkin-Elmer building on the Norwalk/Wilton line, now known as iPark, will be the new headquarters for the orthopedic group.  Additional Coastal Orthopaedics offices are located in Westport, Darien and New Canaan.

The new 15,000-square-foot offices at iPark have been especially designed for orthopedic patient care and comfort with new exam rooms equipped with up-to-date technology, X-ray facilities, hand therapy center and spacious waiting areas.

“This ultra-modern, clean, efficient state-of-the-art facility will be equal to the level of expert care that we deliver to our patients,” says Dr. Paul Protomastro of Coastal Orthopaedics. “Our move to this progressive office will enable us to continue bringing the best care to our patients along with the addition of some young progressive physicians in a growth mode that caters to the most comprehensive, specialized orthopedic care.“

The new offices at iPark will also offer a walk-in urgent care facility known as Coastal Ortho Express. It will be open with extended hours Mondays through Saturdays (and possibly Sundays) and will cater to orthopedic injuries and pain such as breaks, sprains, and dislocations.

This facility will treat 95 percent of problems treated in the emergency room without a visit to the hospital. By visiting an orthopedic urgent care, patients can get immediate, expert and definitive care for bone and joint pains on a walk-in basis.

“This is the future of modern orthopedic emergency treatment,” Protomastro said. “Now patients can come to us first without having an appointment or going to the Emergency Room for orthopedic injuries and issues.  This will save our patients significant time and money.”

Coastal Orthopaedics has been in existence since 1963. The group currently consists of 12 physicians with unique specialties in spine, pediatrics, foot and ankle, sports medicine, shoulder, hand and upper extremity, and total joint replacement surgery. Its staff of 50 employees is dedicated to improving quality of life for their patients and addressing their concerns through proven services using the latest technology available.
