Hailey and Dooli are the company dogs. Hailey (10 ½ years) is a Corgi, and Dooli (7 ½ years) is a Beagle/Fox Hound mix. It started 20 years ago when a German Shepherd (pound puppy) named Harley began coming to work daily with his owners, the Sheppards.

It was out of desperation that he was there at all. Harley was suddenly experiencing severe separation anxiety, so he started going to work in order to keep him safe and from destroying their home. Harley quickly became a fixture at Clearview as employees, suppliers, and customers began expecting him to be there.

There has been a dog there daily ever since. He served as the company dog for many years, having free roam of the building and the parking lot. When Harley turned 12, his family got Hailey. Harley trained her well for how to behave at work -- how to let customers and suppliers come and go without barking or jumping, yet alerting employees of anything out of the ordinary around the building. The two of them made great working partners.

When Harley passed away at 14 ½ years, he was sorely missed by everyone, especially Hailey. About a year later, Dooli was rescued as a pup from a high kill shelter. Hailey then gladly took on the role of training Dooli at work. Corgis are natural herders and love to tell others what to do.

Hailey and Dooli have been working at Clearview since they were puppies; their presence relieves everyday stress for everyone. Studies show numerous positive results from interactions with dogs. The dogs also entertain customers, and they love the attention, especially from children.

In addition to going to Clearview daily, Hailey is a certified therapy dog. Hailey‘s experiences at work set her up as a natural therapy dog. She even has her own business card, which advises interested parties to contact her through her human.

Hailey and her human have been making therapy dog visits for six years. In those years they have had opportunities to volunteer at hospitals, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, adult day care facilities, schools, and community events. The positive effects of a dog’s presence are felt in just about any setting.

Hailey and Dooli love visitors! While you’re there one of their humans can help you with your window and door needs.
