FAIRFIELD, Conn. The owners of the Fairfield Cheese Company recently celebrated their Post Road shop's winning national and state recognition for their selections.
The Fairfield Cheese Company was named No. 1 on cheese expert Laura Werlins Top 5 Cheese Shops in the U.S., recently published in the online version of Food and Wine magazine. Fairfields entry beat out competition in the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle and Atlanta to take the top spot.
Connecticut magazine also picked the Fairfield Cheese Company for its Best of Connecticut 2012 list in August. The shop was named for having the Best Cheese Selection in the state.
Shop owners Laura Downey and Chris Palumbo were commended by State Sen. John McKinney and State Rep. Brenda Kupchick for their No. 1 rating.
The Fairfield Cheese Company is located at 2090 Post Road.
