Lentini, the owner of Along Came Carol Creative Foods & Catering, has run her catering business in Fairfield County for 25 years. On April 4 she will open a brick-and-mortar store that will offer prepared meals for take-out and delivery. She will also continue to cater events in the area and offer nutrition consulting.
Though she will continue to offer the “comfort food” of her established catering business, Lentini will also branch out with her new storefront. The restaurant will focus on Thai food, inspired by Lentini’s recent travels in Thailand.
“I studied at four different Thai culinary schools, learning different approaches at each, and realized that not only is Thai food delicious and flavorful, but also extremely healthy when prepared properly,” she said in a press release.
She also recently earned a holistic health coach certification from the School for Integrative Nutrition in New York City, so her menu will reflect that healthy approach to food. She also plans to host cooking classes, instruction in health cleanses and nutrition coaching.
"Like many busy working moms, I had put my own well-being on the back burner. After completing my studies in holistic health, I realized it was time to begin a journey of renewal for my own health and happiness,” Lentini said in a press release. “By offering this new line of healthy and delicious meals, I’m inviting all to join me on this trip to wellness.”
The storefront will serve late lunches and will offer ready-to-eat meals for pickup, delivery or special order. Lentini plans to rotate the menu every few weeks with a different selection of full meals, soups, salads, sides, dressings, breads and desserts.
Along Came Carol will have its grand opening Thursday, April 4. The storefront is located at 2984 Fairfield Ave. in Black Rock. For more information, visit Lentini’s website.
