The agreement is part of the FCS board’s transition plan due to the retirement of Executive Director Dorothy Timmermann.

“We entered into this agreement with FSW because of their reputation as a high-performing organization and the outstanding behavioral health services they already offer to the greater Bridgeport area,” said Joan Sloan, FCS board chair.

“FSW currently provides behavioral health services to nearly 3,000 individuals and families a year, and is well-positioned to manage these important services for FCS here in Fairfield. FSW’s expertise and management experience will enable FCS to continue to provide high quality counseling services to the Fairfield community during this transition year and for many years to come.”

Bill Hass, president and chief executive officer, of FSW, agreed. “I am pleased that FSW was selected to manage FCS because of the strong synergy between our two organizations. FCS’s current staff will continue to deliver high quality behavioral health services under our supervision.”

The FCS board additionally asked for help from FSW in forming a plan that will allow FCS to continue providing the same services, and to enhance or extend services in the future.

Both organizations are nonprofits. They provide counseling and other services to people who are in need, and who are experiencing or have survived major issues. Children and adults can receive services through these organizations.
