FAIRFIELD, Conn. – It might not be completely open yet, but brothers Glenn and Dave Grella are hoping to bring a different kind of pizza to Fairfield.
When the Pronto Chop Shop and Pizzeria does open in September, the former ice cream store will be a pizza, salad and wrap restaurant.
There will be seven signature salads, wraps and pizzas, but customers will be able to customize each to the point of putting the salads on the pizza.
“We are really excited to build what will be the home of the ‘Original Chop Salad Pizza’,” Glenn said. Ever since he discovered the existence of a salad pizza he said he has been trying to find a great one and he hopes that it will help put Pronto on the mp.
In the last several weeks Glenn said the cooking staff has been fine-tuning and perfecting a menu he admitted he can’t help but add to.
In addition to the full menu of freshly made food, Glenn said there also will be a grab-and-go section with salads and wraps of the day for those who might not be able to wait.
For those that stay, “our hope is that the customer will follow the production of their food,” Glenn said. The restaurant has been set up with a particular flow in mind where customers enter from the Post Road entrance and leave into the Brick Walk parking lot.
