Fairfield Welcomes Six7 Marketing As It Opens Its First Office

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Six7 Marketing, an integrated marketing firm, made the formal step from basement startup to local business on Wednesday as First Selectman Mike Tetreau and Chamber of Commerce President Beverly Balaz helped to cut the grand opening ribbon at 1901 Post Road.

Standing in his one-man office, former marketing researcher and Six7 CEO Scott Lipow was all smiles on April 1 as he was joined by his friends and family for the age-old business ceremony.

“It took a while to get to this point,” Lipow said, noting that he has been working out of his home for the last four years after leaving his last job in Stamford. “Fairfield is perfect for the stage of growth we’re in. It’s a great location, and I’m very excited to be a part of it.”

The company doesn’t focus on a single industry, he said. It provides services for clients in jewelry, medicine and even laundromats. His company handles every aspect that a marketing department does, including custom websites, digital marketing and social media.

“It doesn’t matter what the industry, we can get a deep understanding of your business model and market trends regardless of what industry it’s coming from,” Lipow said.

Although Lipow’s office is a bit of a one-man site as of now, he said that Six7 has a dedicated design and development team as well. But his office is what is “driving things” at the moment.

As CEO, Lipow holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from Emory. He grew up in the Fairfield area and attended Hamden Hall.

When asked about this weekend’s Final Four match-up between his alma matter and the No. 1 seed Kentucky Wildcats, Lipow said he was excited but he didn’t know whether “it could top the ribbon cutting.”

Tetreau, who talked shop about this weekend’s match-up with Lipow, joked about the intimate ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“In the spirit of budget season,” Tetreau said, “we only used half of the ribbon for this.”

Tetreau applauded Lipow as a new business owner, noting “the No. 1 thing our economy needs now is jobs.”

Lipow said, while his business is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays, it always “works tirelessly for our clients.”

“We are very much on call,” Lipow said. “Stop by and just say hello, or just give us a call out of the blue. We’re here.”
