FAIRFIELD, Conn. – If you’re interested in grabbing some ice cream and helping sick children at the same time, head over to Fairfield’s Dairy Queen this Thursday. The Post Road shop is donating all profits from its Blizzard treats to Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center as part of Miracle Treat Day.
Miracle Treat Day is an annual benefit for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals held at Dairy Queen shops in the Hudson River Valley and Fairfield County. Stores all over the area will donate a portion of their sales to the Valhalla, N.Y. hospital.
But the owner of Fairfield’s Dairy Queen, Nick Frattaroli, has decided to go even further with his donations. Frattaroli will donate all profits from Blizzards sold Thursday to the center, after recouping the cost of the ingredients. A Fairfield fire truck, the Fairfield Police D.A.R.E. car and First Selectman Michael Tetreau will also be at the scene with extra activities for families at the event.
Dairy Queen is located at 1902 Post Road. The store is open Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
