And true to Chick-fil-A tradition, the opening will be celebrated with a 24-hour campout the night before. The first 100 people in line for the campout could win free food from the new fast-food restaurant for a year.
The grand opening for the new Chick-fil- A is set for Thursday, Oct. 19.
But the line will begin to form at 6 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, as the First 100 party pops up in the parking lot at 467 Connecticut Ave.
In the 24 hours before the grand opening, guests lineup to be one of the first 100 adults through the door to win a year of free meals at Chick-fil-A.

The Chick-fil-A First 100 tradition goes back 14 years. Rain, snow and extreme temperatures do not deter Chick-fil-A fans who arrive with tents, chairs, TVs and computers for the 24-hour campout.
The winners get a one-year supply of 52 free Chick-fil-A meals, consisting of a chicken sandwich, medium waffle potato fries and a medium beverage.
The new restaurant will also host a children’s book drive, accepting donations of new and gently used books on Oct. 19, to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford.
The Norwalk Chick-fil-A restaurant features a:
- two-story interactive indoor play area and free Wi-Fi.
- designated pickup parking spaces and dual drive-thru ordering lanes and screens to enable customers to move quickly into a single lane for payment and pickup.
- dining room with seating for 130 with additional outdoor patio seating.
- newly hired staff of 110 team members.
The first Chick-fil-A restaurant in Connecticut opened in October 2014 in Brookfield and was quickly followed by locations in Danbury and Wallingford. The Norwalk location is the eighth one in Connecticut.
