Amazing Lash Studio, purveyors of single-application, semi-permanent eyelash extensions, recently opened on Black Rock Turnpike. Elyse Pederson, the company’s regional developer, said every woman can benefit from her wares.

Pederson remembers taking a shower, wrapping her hair in a towel and glancing in the mirror after she got her first extensions.

“I’m, like, ‘Oh my god! Hello, Beautiful!,” she said of the experience. “You put them on and you look like you have full makeup and mascara on all the time.”

Founded by Jessica and Edward Le, Amazing Lash began franchising in 2013 and has 601 franchisees awarded and under development in 26 states. The Fairfield location is the first in Connecticut, and a Stamford studio should open early in the new year, Pederson said.

Never had your eyelashes extended? The patented process is an exacting one, in which a trained esthetician painstakingly adds extensions to each individual lash. The first visit usually takes about 90 minutes.

The current introductory offer for first-time clients is $79, which Pederson said is a fraction of the cost one would find at a traditional day spa. From there, customers can sign up for a membership for refills, which are usually needed every two to four weeks.

Pederson, who has also owned and operated Massage Envy, European Wax Center and Orange Theory Fitness franchises, said the process differs from other studios, some of which apply lashes in clusters.

“We’re not compromising anyone’s natural lash,’” she said.

Lashes are also customized to fit the shape of the client’s lash line. And they come in four styles — natural, cute, sexy and gorgeous.

Pederson, who got involved with Amazing Lash about two years ago, hopes to open about 20 locations in the region in the next two or three years. Hoping to jump right into the community, Pederson opened the Fairfield location with a benefit for the Domestic Violence Crisis Center for friends and family.

She said she’s looking forward to getting more studios open across Connecticut.

“I fell in love with it,” she said. “It’s just such a great feel-good business.”

Amazing Lash Studio is at 2093 Black Rock Turnpike, in the Old Navy shopping center. For more information, visit the Fairfield website.
