Westport-based Maplewood Senior Living plans a 91,926-square-foot assisted living and memory care facility on a 27-acre site on Mill Hill Terrace.

The plans call for preservation of 15 acres of the property as protected open space through a conservation easement, in accordance with the terms of its inland wetlands permit.

The project, which is slated to begin construction later this year, is expected to cost $20 million and create 100 permanent jobs and another housing option for the frail elderly population and those living with Alzheimer’s disease.

Maplewood operates nine other senior living communities, including six in Connecticut.
