WILTON, CONN. -- In late February and in the midst of a pretty bleak winter, a sparkling new store opened in Wilton, Lace Affaire. Store founder and manager Carline Dean says the new high-end lingerie store is precisely what Fairfield County needed.
“The uniqueness of what we’ve tried to create here will hopefully resonate,'' Dean said. "Women are already coming in and saying ‘Thank you for being here.’ I wanted my store to be a destination shop for women of all ages where you can find just what you’re looking for and feel great doing it.”
And so far, Dean is off to a great start.
Lace Affaire has gathered an impressive collection of brand name must-haves for women of all sizes and ages. Lace Affaire carries an array of beautiful bras and shapewear to gorgeous and unusual gifts, handbags, hats, bathing suits and everything summer, right down to scented candles, and a fine selection of unique jewelry.
There’s even an area meticulously dedicated to brides-to-be, and everything they could need or want, (minus gowns, of course).
Lace Affaire is situated in a picturesque spot right on the Norwalk River, yet is conveniently located in South Wilton on Route 7.
Enter the store and you’re immediately transported to a world of tantalizing treats, where no one leaves empty handed.
At Lace Affaire, slippers, robes and chocolates grace the dressing rooms. Lace Affaire prides itself on delivering the highest level of customer service. “My goal is to make everyone feel comfortable and welcomed here,'' Dean said..
Not only can shoppers hope to find just the right thing, but they can actually get the right fit as well. “It was Oprah who opened our eyes when she told the nation’s women that most of us are walking around with the wrong bra and don’t even know it,'' Dean said. To that point, one woman recently fitted with a new bra was heard saying, “Oh my God, I have a waist!”
That is only one of the many reasons Dean believes this is a good business for the area. The feedback she’s been getting since opening has been encouraging.
Dean said women have told her frequently "Where have you been all our lives! We’ve needed your store for so long" and “there’s just nothing like it around."
“The store is tempting and inviting, which was my goal,'' Dean said. “People have been buying gift cards for friends because they know they’ll find something fun here.” Dean hopes the store will draw women from all over Fairfield County.
Lace Affaire is located at 23 Danbury Road, Wilton on the lower level and can be reached at 203-529-3793. More information about the store is on the business website.
