The Town’s Department of Economic & Community Development, in partnership with the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, will sponsor a “Shop & Stroll into Spring” event on April 27.

Participating shops in downtown Fairfield will stay open late and offer an assortment of free hors d’oeuvres and refreshments from 5 to 9 p.m. Local restaurants will also be offering dinner or drink specials throughout the evening.

“This is a great opportunity to celebrate the arrival of spring, support our local businesses and enjoy a fun night out with family and friends,” said First Selectman Mike Tetreau, in a statement.

Stores will be collecting donations of personal care items for Operation Hope. A percentage of net proceeds will also go to support the local nonprofit, which provides services to those struggling with homelessness and food insecurity.

Businesses or organizations that wish to participate in the event should contact Community and Economic Development Director Mark Barnhart at 203-256-3120 or mbarnhart@fairfieldct.org or Beverly Balaz, president of the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, at 203-255-1011 or beverly@fairfieldctchamber.com.
