Local restaurants will be offering dinner or drink specials throughout the evening.

Local merchants are partnering with the Fairfield Foundation for Education, a community nonprofit organization that awards grants to Fairfield public school teachers and educators who are working to enrich the curriculum with creative and innovative learning opportunities.

The event is being co-sponsored by the Town of Fairfield and the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, with a portion of the event proceeds going to support the work of the Fairfield Foundation for Education.

The Foundation will offer a keepsake wine glass at selected retailers for a donation of $10.

“We thought the wine glass would be a fun way for shoppers to show their support and have a memento of the evening’s festivities,” said Dick Popilowski, president of the Fairfield Foundation for Education.

In addition to the keepsake wine glass, shoppers will also have the opportunity to enter a drawing for several prizes, including a downtown shopping spree.

“This is a terrific opportunity to celebrate the arrival of spring, support our local businesses and enjoy a fun night out with family and friends, while supporting a worthy cause,” said First Selectman Mike Tetreau.

Beverly Balaz, president of the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce added, “The Chamber of Commerce is happy to be partnering with the Town on this event as it provides our merchants another opportunity to open their doors to the community, meet new customers from surrounding towns and provide a wonderful shopping experience.”
