FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Southport resident and "Good Morning America" news anchor Josh Elliott has accepted an offer with NBC Sports to be a part of that network's coverage of the horse racing Triple Crown, the Olympics and "Sunday Night Football," according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Elliott had been in "intense" contract negotiations with ABC, which broadcasts "Good Morning America," but chose to switch networks, the Hollywood Reporter said.
Elliott will be replaced on the "Good Morning America" news desk by Amy Robach.
He took a pay cut to take the job at NBC Sports, the Hollywood Reporter said .
