Norwalk resident Anthony Luciani and his wife, Rosa, have long run Mr. Frosty’s Ice Cream Shop at 6 First Street -- this is their 11th season in business. Now, they've added Seaside Sliders to their repertoire.

The new truck, in operation since June 3, is all about natural, organic, grass fed beef. "Everything is made fresh and hand-crafted," said Luciani.

And so far, he added, the sliders have been getting great reviews. Some of the more popular choices are the Norwalk slider (burger with caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, and crumbled bleu cheese) and the Oyster slider (local fried Copp’s Island Oysters with mixed greens, chopped onion and celery, and citrus vinaigrette).

Luciani knows the burger business from a restaurant he had in 2010 called The Beach Burger. It's now closed, but he's using the same recipes from there that were curated by multi-time Food Network "Chopped" Champion Marc Anthony Bynum.

As for why he decided to take the plunge and go back into the burger biz, Luciano said he'd been thinking the food truck catering business would be a great addition to his ice cream shop and ice cream catering business for a few years.

"An opportunity for a beautiful food truck presented itself, and we jumped right into it."

Right now he's catering primarily to Fairfield County and Westchester, but has already reserved dates for traveling further. Go to www.seasidesliders.com for more information.
