The Stratford resident was killed around 9:16 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the intersection of Tresser and Washington boulevards, said Stamford Police Sgt. Jeffrey Booth.

According to investigators with the department's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad, the incident took place when a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by a 23-year-old Stamford resident, was traveling eastbound on Tresser Boulevard. 

At the intersection of Tresser Blvd. and Washington Blvd. the Jetta struck the pedestrian that was crossing Washington Blvd. from north to south.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The identification of the victim is being withheld until family members can be notified.

The driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, Booth said.
