First up is “At Home in Barnum's Iranistan,” a talk by museum curator Adrienne Saint-Pierre. The talk will focus on the interior design of Barnum's Iranistan mansion and the people who lived there. The event is at 12:15 p.m. Nov. 19 and is free for museum members with a suggested donation of $3 (no registration needed).

Dec. 1 sees the museum host a story reading of Clement Clarke Moore's “'Twas the Night Before Christmas,” read by Sonya Finch. The reading begins at 11 a.m., and the museum will offer holiday activities as well. Antlers and red noses will be given out to children, and all attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Bridgeport Rescue Mission. Admission is free.

A sneak peek of the museum's holiday plans is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. Dec. 10. Honoring the 19th-century Victorian style that led to much of what we consider Christmas celebration these days, this event will show off holiday costumes and finery. Admission is free for museum members and children under 12, with a suggested donation of $3 (no registration required).

The Victorian holiday celebrations continue at 2 p.m. Dec. 14 as museum director Kathy Maher presents an event showing the evolution of the Victorian Age Christmas and its tales and traditions. The event is free to museum members and children under 12, with a suggested donation of $5 (no registration required).

The Barnum Museum is at 820 Main St., Bridgeport. For more information on the museum, call (203) 331-1104 or visit http://www.barnum-museum.org.
