Bridgeport's Bijou Hosts St. Patrick's Party With The Blarney Session

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The Bijou Theatre presents a St. Patrick's Day Celebration featuring the music and wit of The Blarney Session, with special performances by the Irish Step Dance Team from Connecticut Dance.

The party is Saturday, March 14, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 a person or $30 per family.

From the rolling green fields of New Jersey comes a new and exciting Irish band: The Blarney Session. Six musicians with a common purpose to play traditional and modern Irish music for the masses! Nine different instruments are played during every performance, including banjo, mandolin, tin whistle and bodhran. Covering Irish artists as diverse as The Dubliners, the Pogues and Flogging Molly as well as a wide variety of Pub classics this is Irish Music at its best. They also put an Irish twist on such artists as Bruce Springsteen, The Rolling Stones and Aviici to name a few. 

The Blarney Session includes:

  • Dan McCarthy on bass/vocals;
  • Tim McMahon on guitar/mandolin/vocals;
  • Chris Conway on accordion/tin whistle/vocals;
  • James Sattler on fiddle/banjo/ukulele/vocals;
  • James Doyle on banjo/bodrhan/trumpet,/vocals; and
  • Drew Paradine on drums.
