At 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, The Watermark will host a free workshop called, “Keys to Unlocking Social Security Benefits.”

The workshop, presented by OneSource Senior Living, will discuss challenges faced by people when going through the process to file for Social Security benefits.

The workshop will discuss what mistakes to avoid, how benefits are calculated, how to decide when to collect, and the taxation of benefits.

OneSource Senior Living is a nonprofit organization founded in 2014 by CEO Bill Schloth.

“Aging well means having a strategy to face the challenges that may be coming your way; during my professional career and in my own personal life I’ve seen challenges, good and bad, play out,” said Schloth. “That is what inspired me to start this organization and we are thrilled to be able to expand our reach to the residents, guests and public who attend our presentation at The Watermark.”

OneSource offers free workshops on long-term care, eldercare law, and Medicare benefits, among others. The organization is committed to informing and engaging the aging community on longevity planning and caregiving solutions.

OneSource Senior Living will be available to answer questions from the audience after the presentation. The organization will also be hosting a free giveaway, provided by local merchants.

“No matter what stage of life you’re in, there’s always room to improve your aging process knowledge and planning, especially when it comes to Social Security,” said Kristin Butler, executive director at The Watermark. “Hosting workshops like these is just one of the ways we continue to keep our residents active and engaged, and we look forward to welcoming OneSource Senior Living into our community to shed some light on this very important topic.”

This event is free of charge and open to the public, however reservations are required. To RSVP, contact Ann Sertl at The Watermark at 203-374-5611.
