The Watermark at 3030 is a distinctive community for seniors on the Bridgeport/Fairfield town line that offers independent living, assisted living, skilled rehabilitation and memory care.

Its support group meetings, designed for individuals who care for an elderly parent or loved one, will be held every other Wednesday and will discuss a variety of topics, including:

  • best practices for coping with caregiver stress
  • financial planning and legal rights
  • creating an appropriate emergency plan
  • warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease; and
  • disease and basic information about Hospice care.

“It’s never easy to watch a parent or loved one grow older, and for caregivers, it can be an extremely stressful situation,” said Connie Haworth, executive director at The Watermark. “Our support group provides a safe and comfortable place for people to share their experiences and to learn more about improving the quality of life for their loved one, and themselves.”

The support group, led by Kelley Green, program director/ALSA, and registered nurse Nicole Passaro, supervisor of assisted living services at The Watermark, is free of charge and open to the public.
