The Center In Stamford Plans Fundraising Gala At Stepping Stones

STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Stamford-based Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education (The Center) will host its 10th annual Raise Your Glass, Raise Awareness fundraising gala on Thursday, May 28, in Norwalk.

Senator Richard Blumenthal, who attended the gala last year for The Center, will be one of the honorees at this year's event for the Stamford organization.

The gala will be held at Stepping Stones Museum for Children, Mathews Park, 303 West Ave., in Norwalk from 7 to 10 p.m.. Funds raised will support critical crisis counseling and prevention programs throughout Lower Fairfield County.

The Center served nearly 14,000 people in the towns of Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, Weston, Westport, and Wilton.

The Center’s circus-themed gala will feature Alan Kalter of “Late Show With David Letterman” fame will serve as Master of Ceremonies. This year’s event honorees are U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal and Mark Shenkman, founder, president and CIO at Shenkman Capital Management Inc.

Guests can participate in a live and silent auction, take a chance at carnival games (including a wine bottle ring toss),enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a dessert table and indulge in cotton candy and popcorn. Performers from Circophony will provide side-show acts that include juggling, stilt walking, clowns, acrobats, and more. 

The online portion of the Raise Your Glass auction will run from May 18 to May 28, with the live event taking place on May 28. The auction includes exotic vacation getaways, one-of-a-kind experiences, and a wide variety of items that are sure to delight and surprise.

Net proceeds will benefit The Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling & Education, a nonprofit organization that provides crisis counseling and support services to victims of sexual assault and works to eliminate sexual violence through community-wide education programs. Tickets are available now at $125 per person.  Supporter of The Center Tickets are $1,000 (includes 4 tickets plus special recognition) and $500 (includes 2 tickets plus special recognition).
