Meyer was born in Paris and raised in Switzerland. She spent much time as a child watching her grandfather create his work at his home in the south of France. Chagall’s paintings are displayed in major museums around the world. He also produced windows for the cathedrals of Reims and Metz, as well as for the United Nations.
“I grew up with his paintings all around me,” Meyer said.
Today, Meyer is the designer and founder of the Manhattan studio Fleurs Bella. She also holds a Ph.D. in medieval art history and works for the Visual Arts Cultural Services of the French Embassy.
Meyer’s talk will follow Shabbat services at 6 p.m. and a dinner at 7:15 p.m. Dinner reservations are $20 per person and may be made by contacting the temple office at 203-336-1858.
This program is part of the temple’s celebration of artwork by its members. A related art exhibit runs from Thursday, Feb. 5, to Sunday, Feb. 15, at the temple.
