"My son loves to go upside down," said Brendan's father, Jim, who is one of the chairmen of the carnival. "He's a thrill-seeker."

The 75th annual Easton Fireman's Carnival will run from 6 to 11 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2 through Saturday, Aug. 6, on the field at 1 Center Road.

Admission is free. Ride bracelets cost $25.

"We haven't missed a year since 2002 when we moved to town," said McCarthy, who also has a 15-year-old daughter, Caitlin.

"The kids love the rides. The carnival is old-fashioned and nice and wholesome. I see a lot of familiar faces here every year. It's a good thing for the community."

According to Gregory Fracasini of Easton, a lieutenant at the Easton Volunteer Fire Company as well as one of the chairs of the carnival, the event draws 2,000 visitors a night.

"The carnival is always a success. We hope to provide a fun family-oriented event for the entire community," Fracasini said.

Proceeds support the Easton Volunteer Fire Company for items such as reserving equipment and training new firefighters.

Established in 1921, The Easton Volunteer Fire Company has been serving the citizens of Easton for over 88 years. It protect and assists in the face of fire, flooding, hazardous materials,or other modern disasters.

There are always two firefighters on duty. Volunteers fill in the gaps and support them as needed, Fracasini said.

"One important part of the carnival that many people enjoy is bingo," McCarthy said. "We have bingo every night -- and I know that’s my wife’s favorite part of the carnival."

Games will include the Crazy Kan, the candy bucket game and a softball throw. There will also be rides such as the scrambler and roundup as well as the cliff hanger and the ripcord.

Food served at the carnival includes sausage and peppers, pulled pork, hot dogs, hamburgers and the carnival's signature item -- a firehouse cheesesteak sandwich.

There will be a raffle to win a 2016 Ford Mustang or Ford 150 Pickup. The drawing will take place Aug 6 at the carnival. The raffle is $25 a chance.

Free parking is available at Helen Keller Middle School, 360 Sport Hill Road, with a free shuttle bus to the carnival. For more information on the carnival, click here. To purchase car raffle tickets online, click here.
