ESPN’s John Dahl Speaks At Membership Drive For Kiwanis Club Of Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- ESPN's John Dahl is set to speak at the Kiwanis Club of Fairfield's Membership Drive on Wednesday, May 7.

The Kiwanis Club event introduces prospective members to Kiwanis and recruits men and women who are interested in ongoing community service, according to a press release. Dahl, an executive producer of ESPN Films, will be the guest speaker for the event, which starts at 6 p.m. at Cinzano’s Restaurant in Fairfield. 

Dahl oversees production of ESPN's critically acclaimed “30 for 30” film series, working with its star-studded roster of filmmakers and their teams. Other films he has worked on recently include "The Greatest Game Ever Played," "Kobe Doin’ Work" and "Lost Son of Havana." Previously, Dahl oversaw production for the network’s trio of Muhammad Ali tribute shows and the Sports Emmy-nominated special "Ali Rap." In addition, he was responsible for the Ultimate NASCAR documentary-style series leading up to ESPN on ABC’s first of 10 televised NEXTEL Cup races in 2007.

The Kiwanis Club of Fairfield has been active for more than 50 years and is made up of men and women engaged in business, professional, institutional and educational fields, according to a press release. Retirees from the fields are eligible for membership. The club raises funds and donates time for high school scholarships, annual special projects with an emphasis on the youth of Fairfield, the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute as well as Kiwanis International projects like Young Children Priority One.
