Fairfield Hosts Sand Sculpture Competition At Penfield Beach

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – It's time to pull out your buckets and shovels as Fairfield holds a sand sculpture competition Sunday, July 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Penfield Beach.

Fairfield's sand sculpture competition will be held at Penfield Beach on Sunday, July 20. Registration is free and open to individuals or teams.

Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m. The event is free.

This year, Fairfield's Police Athletic League is replacing the "Best Castle" prize category with "Best Fairfield 375th" in recognition of the town's 375th birthday.

Prizes will be awarded for:

Best Fairfield 375th
Most artistic sculpture
Most realistic sculpture

Sponsored by the Fairfield Beach Residents Association, the contest is for both individuals and teams. Individuals must be 18 or under, and teams must have at least one member 18 or under.
