Fairfield Library Hosts Author Of Novel Inspired By Amanda Knox Case

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Author Nina Darnton will discuss her book “The Perfect Mother,” inspired by the Amanda Knox case, at the Fairfield Public Library on Tuesday.

The event will be held at 7 p.m. in the Rotary Room at the Main Library.

The novel tells the story of Jennifer Lewis, whose life is shattered when her daughter is accused of brutally murdering a student, while studying abroad in Spain. Confident the accusation is a mistake, Lewis rushes to her daugher’s aid. But, she begins to doubt as troubling details of the crime emerge.

The book aims to explore complex questions of parenthood including how well parents know their children and how far they would go to protect them.  

Copies of "The Perfect Mother" will be available for purchase and signing. Registration is recommended.

Darnton is a former psychologist and a seasoned writer for Newsweek. She has written for The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times and the Washington Post. Darnton also published the book “An African Affair,” based on her five years spent in Africa.
