The parade starts at 10 a.m. Monday on the Post Road and South Pine Creek Road and progress to Old Post Road to Flint's Corner, down Old Post Road past the reviewing stand and ending at South Benson Road.
Fairfield police are reminding residents that putting out blankets or chairs along the parade route is not permitted until 24 hours before it starts. Residents may begin marking spaces Sunday morning.
"It is renowned through the state as the best parade," in Connecticut, Fairfield First Selectman Michael Tetreau said.
The parade will take place rain or shine, Parade Committee Chairman Tom Quinn said.
He said the parade is one of the many ways the community remembers those who have lost their lives for their country.
"They fought and died to preserve all these things that we do," Quinn said.
After the parade finishes at the reviewing stand in front of Town Hall and by the Memorial Wall, U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal will give a speech about the holiday.
After the speech, the town will hold its annual town picnic with music, food and other activities.
