To help mothers in crisis, the library will be collecting new items for babies and children in need. A garden tea party, a peek at the art of Beatrix Potter and a talk with the library’s own children’s book illustrator Mary Jo Koeck will be part of the event.
Registration is requested. Donation requests include: gift cards (Wal-Mart, Stop & Shop, Target and Walgreens); diapers and pull ups (all sizes); baby wipes and diaper rash ointment; crib sheets and blankets; toddler-size clothing; onesies, pajamas, hats, socks and booties; formula, baby food and baby cereal; and chunky board books and infant toys.
For group gifts: a stroller or umbrella stroller; car seat or toddler seat; or a Boppy (C-Shaped pillow designed for infant feeding and support) are some options. All items must be new. Donations may be dropped off at the circulation desk at the Main Library if unable to attend the shower.
