The production of the 1979 classic by Ernest Thompson is the first of many events planned to mark the 40th anniversary of the Darien Arts Center. The play tells the story of aging couple Ethel and Norman Thayer, who spend their summers at their home on the pond. The story unfolds as their daughter Chelsea visits them with her fiancé Billy Ray Sr. and his son, Billy Ray Jr. They ask the Thayers to watch Billy Ray Jr. while they visit Europe, which leads to unexpected bonding between Norman and the boy.

Robertson plays Chelsea Thayer Wayne under the direction of fellow Fairfield resident Patrick Kiley. Robertson is a teacher at the DAC Kids' Theatre and has been an actress for more than 30 years in theater, film, radio and television. She is the founder, producer and director of after-school performance classes at Riverfield Elementary School in Fairfield, where she introduces young actors to the world of theater through storytelling and improvisation.

She has worked with students to rehearse, produce and perform more than 25 one-act plays and has acted as producer, director and stage manager for many children's talent shows. She is currently teaching children from 3 years old to 6th grade at the Darien Arts Center.

Robertson calls theater her passion and has had a long list of roles in community theater. She has performed at the Westport Country Playhouse, Playhouse on the Green, with the Bridgeport Theatre Company and the Arch Villain Theatre Company, among others. She has performed in films such as "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" and "Carry Me Home" with Cuba Gooding Jr., and on television in "All My Children," "One Life to Live," "Guiding Light," and in many commercials. She studied at the Atlantic Theatre School, HB Studio and the Independent Studio in New York City.

“I am ecstatic to be part of this extraordinarily talented cast and to be lucky enough to work under the capable direction of Patrick,” she said.

In addition to Robertson, the cast of "On Golden Pond" includes David Jackins as Charlie Martin, the local postman, Nancy Sinacori as Ethel Thayer, Will Jeffries as Norman Thayer, MacKay Mumford as Billy Ray Jr. and Eric Dino as Billy Ray Sr.

Performances are on March 13, 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22 in the DAC Weatherstone Studio. Friday and Saturday shows are at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at darienarts.org or by calling the DAC box office at 203- 655-5414.
