First Selectman Mike Tetreau announced that the public is invited to take part in the “Shop & Stroll Into Spring” event, which is co-presented by the Town of Fairfield and the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.

"Participating shops throughout Fairfield will stay open late and will offer patrons an assortment of complimentary hors d’oeuvres and seasonal refreshments from 5 to 9 p.m.," a press release said. "Local restaurants will be offering dinner or drink specials throughout the evening."

A list of participating shops and restaurants is available on the "Shop & Stroll Into Spring" event website

“This is a great opportunity to celebrate the arrival of spring, support our local businesses and enjoy a fun night out with family and friends,” said Tetreau.

Several businesses will offer children’s activities and discounted child care services as part of the evening event. Bright Horizons at Fairfield, a daycare center located at 682 Commerce Drive, is offering drop off child care services with advanced registration from 6 to 9 p.m.

For children ages 5 to 12, the Field House at Fairfield Sportsplex will provide games and soccer as well as a hip-hop dance party and a light show hosted by DJ Austin Dailey.

The Fairfield University Bookstore is hosting Elle Sera, singer/songwriter and acoustic guitarist, who will be performing  during the evening.

“The Chamber of Commerce is happy to be partnering with the Town on this event as it provides our merchants another opportunity to open their doors to the community, meet new customers from surrounding towns and provide a wonderful shopping experience," said Beverly Balaz, executive director of the Chamber of Commerce.
