Greenwich Hockey Player Hosts Fund-Raiser In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. –- Greenwich native and Columbus (Ohio) Blue Jackets hockey standout Cam Atkinson will host the second annual Cam Atkinston Keep Hope Alive Festival on Friday, at Old Town Hall in Stamford. The event runs from 7-10 p.m.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Marty Lyons Foundation, which grants wishes to children with terminally ill and life-threatening illnesses. Lyons is a former football star with the New York Jets.

Athletes expected to attend include Chris Kreider, Derick Brassard and Dave Maloney of the New York Rangers; Matt Moulson of the New York Islanders; Martin St. Louis of the Tampa Bay Lightning; and James Van Riemsdyk of  the Toronto Maple Leafs. Players from hockey teams in St. Louis, Anaheim, Edmonton and Buffalo are also anticipated.

Children and adults are invited. There will be an arcade, interactive games, entertainment and food. Old Town Hall is at 175 Atlantic St. in Stamford. For information, tickets or to make a donation, visit www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/camatkinsonkeephopealive.

Local restaurants donating and serving food at the festival include Columbus Park; Asiana; Joey B's; Bobby Valentines; Rico’s Pizza and Bobby Q’s.  Pastries and sweets will come from Black Forest Bakery Sweet Lisa’s. Half Full Brewery is hosting the beer and Val's Liquor of Greenwich will set up a wine bar. Music will be provided by Breezy Entertainment, the in-house DJ, and a mix of arcade and other fun activities have been planned through PM Amusement.
