East Rutherford Library Organizes Summer Reading Program Kickoff Event

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The East Rutherford Memorial Library is kicking off it's summer reading program with "On Your Mark, Get Set … Read!" on Thursday, June 16, with an event that will feature Zumba, healthy snacks and a hula hoop contest.

The free event will begin at 1:30 p.m., and activities will promote the theme of fitness, health and wellness. "Zumba with Miss Paulette" will run from 1:30-2:30 p.m.; "Healthy Snacking: a Trail Mix Bar" will be from 2-4 p.m. and a hula hoop contest will begin at 3 p.m.

The "trail mix bar" is a healthy food program and tasting that's sponsored through the Bergen County Department of Health Services and Inserra ShopRite. The hula hoop contest is for kids 5 and up: the other events are for kids of all ages.
