The 375th birthday party will kick off at 7 p.m. with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, live music and an illusionist who will add a magical touch to the evening. The celebration will also feature a four-course “dinner by the bite.” These small tasting plates – the latest dining trend – allow guests to move about the museum, mix and mingle and bid on silent and live auction items, like jewelry, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, travel packages and more.
In reference to Fairfield’s original four squares laid out in 1639, the museum will present a four-tiered square birthday cake, along with a selection of cake pops, cupcakes and other by-the-bite desserts.
The 375th birthday party, supported by lead sponsors J.P. Morgan Chase and Brody Wilkinson PC, is the Fairfield Museum and History Center’s premier fundraising event of the year, and proceeds will benefit its expanding educational programs. Each year, more than 5,500 school-age children and adult learners participate in the museum’s programs to learn about the past and their community. Additional support comes from Knight Rolleri Sheppard, Orthopedic Specialists Group PC and Pascale Communications.
“We are so grateful to all of the individuals, businesses and corporations who support our annual fundraiser, allowing us to expand our educational initiatives, which are at the heart of our mission,” says Michael Jehle, executive director of the museum.
Throughout the evening, guests will have the opportunity to experience Fairfield’s colorful 375-year history firsthand through the interactive exhibition "Creating Community: Celebrating 375 Years of Our Past" and two new exhibits: "Accused: Fairfield’s Witchcraft Trials" and "The Pequot War and the Founding of Fairfield."

The Fairfield Museum and History Center is a nonprofit, community cultural arts and education center established in 2007 by the 103-year old Fairfield Historical Society.
Located at 370 Beach Road, the museum is open seven days a week. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students and seniors. Members of the museum and children are free.
