Tickets for the event are $20 in advance and $25 at the door, with up to five people per team. A cash bar and food is available for purchase.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit MRWC and the River-Lab Program, a hands-on program of environmental science study for students in grades 3-6 in all public and parochial schools in Fairfield.
“This evening kicks off a year-long celebration of our 50th anniversary as a nonprofit organization dedicated to education and environmental awareness,” said Lynn Shavinsky, president of the MRWC. “This is our second annual trivia event, and we are excited for a night of laughter and friendship in support of the River-Lab Program."
Founded 50 years ago by Fairfield resident Jocelyn Shaw, MRWC’s mission is to educate, advocate and promote understanding, appreciation and stewardship of the ecological health of river basin systems.
The River Lab Program is an award-winning, science-based environmental studies curriculum that is aligned with CT state educational standards.
“River-Lab is supported largely from membership fees and from fundraising events like our Trivia Night,” Shavinsky said. “So grab your friends and put on your thinking caps for a fun night of trivia in support of this wonderful organization,” she added.
