Eileen Neff, 78, of South Nyack

NYACK, N.Y. -- Eileen Neff, of South Nyack, died Feb. 22 at the Joe Raso Hospice Residence, New City, N.Y.

She was 78.

Neff is survived by her husband of 53 years, Thomas E. Neff; her daughters, Jennifer Grennan (Neal), of Tappan, N.Y., and Caryn Neff, of Valley Cottage, N.Y.; her grandchildren, Paige, Luke and Quinn Grennan; her sister, Mary Burke, of Little Ferry, N.J.; and her brother, John F. McCarthy, of Juno Beach, Fla.; as well as her nieces and nephews. 

Neff was born in Bronx, N.Y., on June 18, 1937 to John and Julia McCarthy (Burns). She spent much of her childhood in the parish of Holy Spirit, Bronx, N.Y., and graduated from Cathedral High School in Manhattan, N.Y. 

She lived in Pearl River for 15 years years before moving to South Nyack where she enjoyed the Hudson River view. 

She retired as a teaching assistant from the South Orangetown Central School District. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Joe Raso Hospice Residence, 415 Buena Vista Rd., New City, N.Y.

Visiting will be held at Pizzi Funeral Home, Northvale, N.J., Friday, Feb. 26 from 4 to 8 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday. Feb. 27, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Tappan, N.Y., followed by interment at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkhill, N.Y.
