The library has listed many different gifts that are available for patrons to buy, all with an eye toward helping the library serve its patrons.

There are items of interest that the library will take donations toward, such as book stands (final cost: $25), a park bench on the library's Great Lawn ($1,500) or firewood for the Reading Room ($250).

These items of support include rabbit food, supplies, a pet stroller and a mini vacuum for Blossom, the library's resident reading rabbit.

If rabbits aren't your thing, the library is in need of more technology, and it would appreciate new computers for both children and adult patrons along with an iPad for patrons to use.

Donations are also being taken for library program support, which include receptions and speaking fees for authors as well.

Donation cards are available next to the tree or if you prefer to go online, the library also takes donations at its website at www.pequotlibrary.org.

The library is located at 720 Pequot Ave. in Southport. For more information about the library, call 203-259-0346, ext. 15.
