The R-rated film from 1992 was directed by Robert Altman and written by Michael Tolkin, who adapted the screenplay from his own novel.  It is a satire of Hollywood and its questionable ethics.

The film concerns a sleek and smooth Hollywood studio executive, played by Tim Robbins, who starts receiving anonymous death threats from a disgruntled writer. The executive is also struggling with threats to his job and a girlfriend who is too independent to be a suitable trophy wife.

Screenwriter and director Damon Maulucci will lead the post-film discussion.  Mallucci is a visiting a professor in the university's master's degree program in film and television. He received his master's in fine arts degree in screenwriting from Columbia University.

The Avon Theatre is at 272 Bedford St. in Stamford.  Contact the Avon at 203-967-3660 or visit its website: avontheatre.org.
