Pasternak's work has been gaining admirers among the Northeast's jazz community.

"Nicole is one of the most musical and lyrical jazz vocalists in the New England area,” said Brian Torff, the Arts Center's jazz curator.

JazzTimes magazine writer Chuck Berg calls her “reminiscent of a young Ella. ... The brightest young jazz singer I've heard since Bobby McFerrin."

Other members of the Quartet are pianist Pete Malinverni, bassist Rusty Holloway and drummer Tom Melito.

The concert is part of the Art Center's Lineage Jazz Series, created by the late Chris Brown, local trumpeter and recording engineer. Brown had been scheduled to perform with the Quartet before his death Sept. 24. The show will be dedicated to his memory.

Tickets to the concert are $30 for the general public, $25 for Arts Center members and $10 for students. A limited number of discounted senior tickets will be available for presale at the Westport Center for Senior Activities on 21 Imperial Ave. Tickets are available at online, by calling 203-222-7070, or at the door 30 minutes before the concert.
