Veterans Day Observed: All Town Hall offices, Fairfield Public Schools and all Fairfield libraries are closed.

Open Visions Forum: Kati Marton: 8 p.m. Journalist Kati Marton gives a lecture titled "Human Rights: Free Press and Democracy" at Fairfield University. Tickets are $45 at the Quick Center box office. 1073 N. Benson Road.

Tech Topics: Bargain Shopping Online : 9:30 a.m. The Fairfield Public Library offers a class on how to hunt for discounts at online retailers. The seminar is free. 1080 Old Post Road.

Zoo Volunteer Open House: 6:30 to 8 p.m. Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo hosts an open house for teens ages 14 to 18 interested in its two animal care volunteer programs. There is no charge for admission. 1875 Noble Ave., Bridgeport.

Health Matters: Your Best Skin Care Routine: 7 p.m. Dr. Veronica Waks leads a seminar on skin care techniques at the Fairfield Public Library. The class is free. 1080 Old Post Road.

Fountains of Wayne Concert: 7:30 p.m. Pop-rock band Fountains of Wayne perform at the at the Fairfield Theatre Company’s StageOne. Tickets are $42 at the door, or $32 in advance at the theater box office . 70 Sanford St.
