Friday, Nov. 23 

Thanksgiving with Lincoln: Noon to 3 p.m. The Fairfield Museum and History Center celebrates President Lincoln in honor of its exhibit on the Emancipation Proclamation, “The Promise of Freedom.” The event will feature demonstrations and activities about 19th century Thanksgiving traditions. 370 Beach Road.

Bridgeport Sound Tigers vs. Connecticut Whale: 7 p.m. The state’s two American Hockey League teams face each other at the Webster Bank Arena. 600 Main St., Bridgeport

Saturday, Nov. 24

Sticks for Soldiers: 9 a.m. Hundreds of high school lacrosse players gather at Fairfield Ludlowe High School for a day-long tournament to raise money for wounded veterans. More than 90 games will be played at fields around the area. 689 Unquowa Road.

Santa’s Arrival on Sherman Green: 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Santa Claus rides into downtown Fairfield in an event sponsored by the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce. Santa will have gifts for children on the green, along with activities, food and craft shops to benefit local nonprofits. Located at the intersection of Post Road and Reef Road.

Sunday, Nov. 25

Harvest Hay Rides: 1 to 3 p.m. Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo offers hay rides around zoo grounds t families looking for a fun fall afternoon. 1875 Noble Ave., Bridgeport
