Monday, Sept. 10

Revolution to Republic: Four Women and the Birth of America: 6:30 p.m. Fairfield University professor Mona Garcia begins a four-part lecture series on Revolutionary War-era women at the Fairfield Woods Branch Library. Monday’s lecture is “Martha Washington: The Indispensable Lady.” Admission is free. 1147 Fairfield Woods Road.

John Lennon Reimagined: 7:45 p.m. The Nutopians perform a set on their take of John Lennon’s best work, from the Beatles and as a solo artist, at the Fairfield Theatre Company’s StageOne. Tickets are $37 at the door or $32 in advance at the theater website. 70 Sanford St.

Tuesday, Sept. 11

Sept. 11 Memorial Ceremony: 9 a.m. Fairfield’s Fire and Police Departments and town leaders gather for a remembrance ceremony commemorating the anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001, at Fairfield Fire Department Headquarters. 140 Reef Road.

Flu Vaccination Clinic: 10 a.m.-11 a.m. The Fairfield Health Department offers flu and pneumonia vaccines, in both injections and sprays, to anyone over age 4. Flu vaccines cost $25, and pneumonia vaccines are $45. Located at the Fairfield Senior Center, 100 Mona Terrace.

“The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime”: 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. The Quick Center for the Arts presents a simulcast on its high-definition screen of the National Theatre’s production of the stage adaptation of the Mark Hadden novel. Tickets are $25 for general admission, $20 for seniors and $15 for students and faculty, and are available at the theater website. 1073 N. Benson Road.

Board of Education Meeting: 7:30 p.m. Fairfield’s school board holds its regular meeting in its conference room. The meeting agenda is available here. 501 Kings Highway East, second floor.

Town Planning and Zoning Commission: 7:30 p.m. Fairfield’s zoning board holds its regular meeting in the cafeteria of McKinley School. The meeting agenda is available here. 60 Thompson St.

Wednesday, Sept. 12

Zoo Tots: 11:15 a.m. Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo offers a program for parents and young children. This month’s show is called “Animal Tales.” Preregistration is required; call 203-394-6563. The cost is $10 for zoo members and one child, and $15 for nonmembers and one child. 1875 Noble Ave., Bridgeport.

Mid-Day with Merry: Pinterest: Noon. The Fairfield Public Library’s technology expert, Merry Uk, leads a lunchtime class on using the social media site Pinterest. The seminar is free. 1080 Old Post Road.

Author Talk: John Barricelli: 7 p.m. John Barricelli, owner of SoNo Baking Company in Norwalk, will discuss and sign copies of his book “The Seasonal Baker” at the Fairfield Woods Branch Library. Admission is free. 1147 Fairfield Woods Road.

Thursday, Sept 13

Lifelong Learning Symposium: 1 p.m. Rick DeAngelis offers a free lecture on Military China as a part of Fairfield University’s Lifelong Learning Program. The seminar will take place on the second floor of the school’s downtown bookstore. 1499 Post Road.

Bridgeport Bluefish vs. Maryland Blue Crabs: 7:05 p.m. The Bluefish wrap up a three-game series at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard. Tickets range from $8 to $20 at the team’s website. Games are also scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. 500 Main St., Bridgeport.
