What's Happening In Fairfield This Weekend

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield’s summer ends with sports, music and educational programs this Labor Day weekend. Here’s a collection of events happening in and around Fairfield over the next few days. Visit our events listings for more to do.

Friday, Aug. 31

Rainforest Reptiles Show: 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo offers its final day of an educational program on snakes, alligators and other reptiles. The presentation is free with zoo admission, which costs $12 for adults and $10 for kids and senior citizens. 1875 Noble Ave., Bridgeport.

Café Music with Daniel Hilbert and David Lott: 7 p.m. Acoustic country artists Daniel Hilbert and David Lott perform at the Fairfield University Bookstore downtown. No charge for admission. 1499 Post Road.

Mystic Bowie Concert: 8 p.m. Reggae artist Mystic Bowie plays at the Fairfield Theatre Company’s StageOne. Tickets are $14 at the door or $12 in advance at the theater’s website. 70 Sanford St.

Saturday, Sept. 1

Kids Workshop: Build Your Own Football Game: 9 a.m. Home Depot hosts a workshop for kids. Each attendee will learn how to make a goal post football game. No charge. 541 Kings Highway Cutoff.

Bridgeport Bluefish vs. Somerset Patriots: 5:30 p.m. The Bluefish continue a three-game series at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard. Tickets range from $8 to $20 at the team’s website. Games are also scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. 500 Main St., Bridgeport.

Sunday, Sept. 2

Ogden House Tour: 1 to 4 p.m. The Fairfield Museum and History Center offers tours of the historic Ogden house, featuring an educational program on Colonial-era Fairfield. Admission is $3 per person. 1520 Bronson Road.
