What's Happening In Fairfield This Weekend

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Plenty of fall fairs and concerts fill up Fairfield’s calendar this weekend. Here’s a collection of events happening in and around Fairfield over the next few days. Visit our events listings for more to do.

Friday, Sept. 14

SeptemberFest: 6 to 10 p.m. Our Lady of the Assumption Parish holds its annual fall carnival with rides, food, games and a tag sale. The fair continues Saturday from 1 to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. Admission is free. 545 Stratfield Road.

Bridgeport Bluefish vs. Sugarland Skeeters: 7:05 p.m. The Bluefish begin a three-game series at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard. Games are also scheduled for Saturday at 1:05 p.m. and Sunday at 2:05 p.m. Ticket prices range from $8 to $20 at the team website. 500 Main St., Bridgeport.

P.J. Pacifico Concert: 7:45 p.m. Acoustic rocker P.J. Pacifico performs at the Fairfield Theatre Company’s StageOne. Tickets are $21 at the door or $18 in advance at the theater’s website. 70 Sanford St.

Saturday, Sept. 15

Badge Bonanza: 9 a.m. to noon. The Connecticut Audubon Society invites Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of all ranks to its Center at Fairfield for morning hikes that work toward a variety of scout badges. Greenfield Hill Agricultural Fair: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Greenfield Hill Grange hosts a country-style fair featuring juried exhibitions, a tag sale, a bake sale and live music. Admission is free. 1873 Hillside Road.

SYBARITE5 Concert: 2 p.m. String quintet SYBARITE5 plays at the Pequot Library as part of its Music for Youth series. The concert is free. 720 Pequot Ave.

“Divergent Views” Opening Reception: 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The Fairfield Public Library’s Bruce S. Kershner Gallery opens its new exhibit, featuring the work of local artists Joan Elizabeth Goodman, Judith Lambertson and Marina Shrady. Admission is free. 1080 Old Post Road.

Mark Morris Dance Group: 8 p.m. The Mark Morris Dance group performs a series of arrangements at the Quick Center for the Arts at Fairfield University. The show is followed by a question-and-answer session with Morris. Tickets range from $35 to $50 at the box office website. 1073 N. Benson Road.

Sunday, Sept. 16

Fairfield Warde PTA Flea Market: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The monthly flea market returns to Fairfield Warde High School’s parking lot. Admission is free. 755 Melville Ave.

Heritage India Festival: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Hindu Cultural Center puts on its annual fair on Fairfield's Town Hall Green. The event features traditional Indian food, dancing, crafts and more. Admission is free. 675 Old Post Road.

Touch a Truck: noon to 4 p.m. The Junior League of Eastern Fairfield County hosts a fundraiser at Fairfield Ludlowe High School featuring trucks for children to get behind the wheel, along with food, go-karts and other activities. Admission is $5 per person or $20 per family. 785 Unquowa Road.

Kat Edmonson Concert: 7:45 p.m. Jazz singer-songwriter Kat Edmonson performs at the Fairfield Theatre Company’s StageOne. Tickets are $17 at the door or $15 in advance at the theater’s website. 70 Sanford St.
