FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Good news, Fairfield County residents: The federal government's Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee is said to be dropping its long-standing warning about cholesterol consumption, according to The Verge.

The committee has said that residents should monitor cholesterol intake and limit it to 300 milligrams per day since 1977, but it is prepared to drop that warning due to a lack of scientific evidence, The Verge reported.

The committee, which updates its dietary recommendations every five years, is now concerned with citizens' regular underconsumption of vital nutrients such as Vitamin D, Vitamin E, potassium, calcium, and fiber, The Verge said.
