Costume Parties, Halloween Fun On Tap At Fairfield County Restaurants

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- From Day of the Dead celebrations to masquerade parties, music and dancing, a drag party and special prices on cocktails and food,  there's plenty to entertain you in Fairfield County this coming Halloween weekend.

Johnny Utah's in South Norwalk begins its celebration Thursday with the Boos & Booze Open Bar, from 9-11 p.m. 

There will be drink discounts for the first 50 customers, music by Rob Newberry,  bobbing for apples, a mummy wrap and trick-or-treat shot games. Purchase tickets here.

Day of the Dead with VIP entry and drink specials, along with prizes for best male and female costumes, and a sugar skull contest is set for Friday. Purchase tickets here. 

On Saturday, The Devil Went Down To Utah's features an open bar from 8-10 p.m. with DJ Vito and prizes awarded to best male and female costumes. Purchase tickets here.

Family Scare rules the day on Halloween, when kids eat free from 4-9 p.m. with the purchase of an adult entree. Face painting and bobbing for apples will be part of the fun.

In Stamford, Sign of the Whale (6 Harbor Point Road) plans the second annual Pumpkin Tap Takeover on Thursday with live jazz with DJ Fumach, flip cup with prizes, specialty pumpkin beers on tap and a pumpkin-themed menu.

Friday is Oktoberfest with DJ Mazz. There will be a Sam Adams Hoisting Challenge with prizes. Among special meals, bratwurst on a pretzel roll with sauerkraut and jumbo pretzel with Guinness pub cheese will be available.

Then on Saturday, the Halloween costume party with DJ Mazz and prizes is the featured entertainment.

Sunday is Mischief Industry Night with DJ Mazz. There will be discounted pumpkin draft beers.

On Monday, trick-or-treating at The Whale with the whale mascot and a photographer is the highlight. The photos are free for guests in costume. The menu features crab legs and discounted beers, among choices.

At  BarBQ Stamford (15 Clark St.) a Halloween kickoff party with DJ Mazz is set for Thursday. Guests can get their first drink free if they go in costume.

Friday offers a Haunted Hoedown with DJ KC and a costume contest. First-place winner will get free drinks for one year.

Saturday features Halloween Bash with DJ Frankie, with an open bar from 9-10 p.m. and no cover before 10 p.m. Best individual costume wins a trip to Las Vegas or Cancun; best group costume wins $500 in cash.

Terrasole Ristorante in Ridgefield (3 Big Shop Lane) celebrates Halloween through Nov. 3 with dining specials of Italian favorites highlighting the season’s best flavors. A sampling of specials include zuppa di zucca pumpkin soup crème fresh topped with rock shrimp and spicy tomato pumpkin seeds and gnocchi di zucca fatti in casa con gamberoni e capesante salsa di cocco.

Room 112 in Norwalk (112 Washington St.) will have a Halloween masquerade costume contest on Saturday. Events from 9:30 p.m.-2 a.m. include drag performances by Hostess Lucia Virginity, Sylvia Heart and Scarlett Bleu; music by Young Male Genius Saturday and Beautiful Nightmare.

On Sunday, costumes are mandatory. SINdustry Sunday is from 1-8 p.m., with Eric Kupper, Dancin’ Mark Richie Dio. Complimentary bloody Marys and mimosas will be available from 1-2:30 p.m.; a sushi brunch is from 1-4 p.m.

Crave in Fairfield (52 Sanford St.) will feature Day of the Dead Party with DJ Gruv on Friday.

Saturday offers a Halloween party with DJ Exel Titos.

Best costume contest with cash prize is Monday and Halloween Nerd Fest with DJ Excel when staff will dress up as nerds.

Café Xpresso in Newtown (150 S. Main St.) will host Halloween costume and specials through Monday. Customers who visit in costume get a complimentary medium drink. Halloween cakes, cupcakes and cookies will be available.

Peaches Southern Pub & Juke Joint in Norwalk (7 Wall St.) offers a New Orleans-style masquerade party with music by Otis & the Hurricanes on Saturday. There will be giveaways and prizes.

At L'Escale Delamar Greenwich Harbor (500 Steamboat Road) a Halloween soiree is on tap Friday to Saturday from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. with live music, open bar and costume prizes.

At The J House Greenwich (1114 E. Putnam Ave., Riverside) a Halloween costume ball is planned from 8 p.m.-midnight with a costume contest, DJ and dancing.

Help out a good cause in Darien at Bodega Taco Bar (980 Post Road), where a special menu is offered through Monday with 10 percent of sales being donated to Make-A-Wish Foundation. On Saturday at 8 p.m. there will tequila specials and a pig roast.

Sunday offers Bloody Brunch from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., with sugar skulls and face painting.
