Fairfield Bar Offers Traditional Irish Cocktail For Hot Toddy Day

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Get ready to get hot: Sunday, Jan. 11, is National Hot Toddy Day and Fairfield's Anna Liffey's believes it has the warm libation to cure what ails you.

According to General Manager James Mcdermott, the Irish believe this classic cocktail offers "the Vitamin C for health, the honey to soothe, and the alcohol to numb."

Bartender Hughie Coogan, who is from Wicklow, Ireland, makes his hot toddy the traditional Irish way with hot Jameson Irish whiskey, brown sugar, cane sugar, a lemon slice with cloves, hot water and an anise star.
