The event, now in its second year, is open to the public at no cost and will be held regardless of the weather, according to organizers.

“Everyone is invited to attend," said Beverly Balaz, the chamber's president. "And this year, more demos and screenings have been added, plus outdoor activities for kids. In addition, we wanted to add an educational component, so we will be offering 'Wellness Lectures' throughout the day."

The event will feature fitness demonstrations in numerous sports, outdoor activities for children (face painting, an obstacle course and a moon bounce), health screenings and police demonstrations.

The event is also to feature a lecture series on various health topics including plastic surgery, urgent care v. emergency room care and important issues surrounding a low-fat diet.

Red Mango, a food vendor, is scheduled to be on hand to offer food and drinks for sale.

"We are happy to be the host site for this important Chamber event," said Executive Director of the Fairfield YMCA Karen Backus. "The YMCA supports wellness on so many levels that we felt this was a perfect partnership. It also gives us an opportunity to showcase our facility to the public."
