Fairfield Residents Asked To Remember Sandy Hook With Acts Of Kindness

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield First Selectman Mike Tetreau is asking town residents to honor the victims of Sandy Hook by performing acts of kindness on Sunday, Dec. 14, the anniversary of the tragic shooting.

The community is encouraged to post their Acts of Kindness on the Town of Fairfield’s Facebook page.

“The Town of Fairfield continues to unite with Newtown and show our community’s strong support and solidarity by encouraging residents to perform Acts of Kindness," Tetreau said in a statement. "In support of our neighbors in Newtown, we encourage the Fairfield Community to spread goodwill to one another so that together, we can each make a difference in moving toward positive change.” 

Fairfield can also help memorialize Sandy Hook victims in the following ways: 

  • Share on the Town’s Facebook page a local organization you donated to or volunteered at 
  • Donate to the Town’s Social Services Holiday Gift Giving Program which helps Fairfield families struggling with basic needs by calling 254-4538
  • Spend time with family, friends or neighbors on Sunday to reflect upon making our future better and moving forward toward positive change.
